Hello, Keith - thank you!
It's good to see you, too.
In truth it's strange being a foreigner.
Fortunately, everyone is very friendly and welcoming and I'm behaving properly, having learned to say 'please' and 'thank you' in Flemish, albeit with an English accent.
I have started to learn a bit more but my attempts to say anything in Flemish are thwarted by everyone wanting to speak English.
I had a speech prepared and practised to ask for a bus ticket in the newsagents but I'd only said the first three words when the chap behind the counter said, " It's OK - I speak English".
There is even a Flemish free weekly newspaper printed in English, delivered by the postman who, incidentally, went on strike a couple of weeks ago. It's the same the whole world over.
Letter-boxes are by front gates so he delivers using a big moped which he rides along the pavement.
Enough of that.
Hope you're managing OK.
