Judging by the response you recieved it is nice to know that this government is not pushing for the move to 100bhp. We all know that power is not the cause of accidents but the misuse of power along with lack of consideration towards others is.

The Germans and Japanese imposed a voluntary 100 BHP limit back in the 80's I think. I know I had to get an imported V-Max to get one with the full 145BHP. 100 BHP petition Icon_twisted

I signed it in favour of freedom of choice, but to be honest you cant do much more with 145bhp than you can with 90bhp on roads, even motorways, and obviously not legally.
Of course on the race track on track days, well thats a different kettle o fish.
I've been full circle, how I survived my Aprilia Vtwin 1000 is beyond me, but now my 67bhp Bonnie twin does everything I need.

I find that 50bhp is sufficient these days, it is capable of the magic 'ton' with good brakes and handling thrown in. Not like the 60's where you had to start braking very early and hoped you would stop in time also the frame would whip around beneath you as went round bends at speed (nice!). Most of the 'large' bikes at that time were only 34bhp but we thought they were the Bees Knees. How things have changed.
