Guys, apologies to Bob for not saying hi and introducing myself. Having never joined a forum before, I was unaware of protocol and now feel suitabley chastised. Bought a Silverwing in March after a couple of CBR`s and was wondering if all could join the Kent rideout. I am from the Swanley area.

Westy.

Very Happy First of all welcome to the site! and I am sure you will be more than welcome on the rideout as well , sadly I cannot make that one . If you look up on this site we also have a fairly regular meet up at Alton.

Welcome again westy.

Even protocols and etiquette on inet forums.

Watch yourself if you attend the Alton meetings. They check which fork you use!!!!!!!!! Only kidding, after all the years on here I have never managed to make a monthly meet.

Dive in, ask whatever, don't worry if anything you ask sounds daft, we have all been there. All new once ourselves.

Above all, enjoy the banter and the forum.

Finally are you a GOG? If you have to ask what is a GOG then you may not qualify!!!!!!!Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks for the welcome gents. A GOG you ask! Possibly heading in that direction at too early an age. As for the Alton meet, is use of fingers allowed ?

Hiya Westy, welcome again. As already said jump in and ask away. This forum is a bit quiet but most of us visit every day.

Welcome Westy, enjoy this site, a few have Silver Wings on the site but they are not angels yet.
I will be going on the Kent Ride, maybe on an Old Tiger 100 or a Tmax
See you there, if you can make it

Thanks for that Dave, and I plan on being there but unsure if I will be working. Hopefully not.

Been away - back now.
Welcome from me, Westy.

I read you can't make the Kent Rideout now; never mind, there'll be others and yes, there should be a couple of Silverwings there, or three if I've got mine by then.Very Happy

Fingers crossed for your delivery Mike.

Hope you get the weather to ride it, it's been terrible since I got mine.

Thanks, Doug.

I'm sort-of envious of you with your head start on me but looking forward to reading of your first impressions and experiences.

My Silverwing should be at the dealer's on Tuesday next so we'll ride over and collect the form to get it insured - a bit of a caper over here.
I should be able to pick up the 'wing the following week in time to have a few rides round the block before coming over on the 18th for the weekend, including Kent 7.
By the time I get back here on the Sunday, it should be run in and I should be used to it - I shall do about 500 miles on the trip.

I really do want to see what you have to say and get a few tips/insights.Smile

Mike
Good to hear from you, you will need to come over to Blighty to run it in, as there are not many hills around you. I look forward to seeing you on Kent7, there will be a few Silverswinger's on it.
Regards to Ed and yourself

Thanks, Dave.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing you and everyone, including a new face or two.
Kent's special - my first rideout was Kent 1, about three weeks after I got my X9250.

Regards passed on, thanks.

Mike.
