I've not got one yet, could be just a matter of time, always difficult to get a good deal, I have a Burgman 650 worth more than a new Swing on the book price.

I carried out the first service on the Swing, easy job, I'm off to Devizes for the X9 west coast ride this weekend, somehow it feels more of a rideout doing the event on the little 125, I'm getting about 105mpg and it will hold 65mph when needed.
Barry sat on the scoot last week at the Ace and commented how roomy it is for his size, Keith try one for size, if you are interested.
Hope to meet up soon.
Regards
Dave

I did the Stamford ride yesterday (300miles) and was very impressed with the Swing, I was even leading the others on a long section of the A1M to Peterborough, flat out with the rev-counter cutting in at 10,000rpm, that equalled 68mph on the satnav. The following riders were waiting for the Big Bang to happen.
Handling was very good and it was, as quick around the bends as the larger scoots, where their weight makes them drift out.
On the rideout I managed 113mpg and on the way home it dropped to 103mpg.
I've got 3300 miles on it and so far the scoot does not fail to impress me, my scooter bag holds the Garmin satnav fixed by the bag handle to the curry hook, the seat opens sideways, so the bag can stay there when you open the seat, and the petrol filler cap can also be opened with the bag in situ. It all saves time on rest stops.

Thanks Phil,
I'm sure you can tour on this small scooter, it is just a matter of adjusting your mind set to the fact that it will take a bit longer, I'm now happy with it on motorways, I travel at the same speed as lorries, I find the MP3 player, playing away through Mega-Bass loudspeakers inside the crash helmet relaxing and counting sheep helps pass the time.
I have always got the Burgman 650 for longer trips if necessary, I went out on it yesterday for the first time since coming back from Wales, it really does feel heavy and unstable compared to the S-Wing at slow speeds.
One other very good point with the S-wing, is the fact that is totally stable in cross winds, my test for that is crossing the Queen Elisabeth bridge at Dartford, you don't have to make any riding adjustments.

Dave,

Your comments and seeing it in action have roused my interest - primarily as a commute machine. I have a 17 mile e/w trip to work; half of it M4, plus a stretch of A4, sometimes in heavy traffic. Speed isn't the important factor.

The Burger is too thirsty on that sort of run. Your 100+ mpg is tempting, but what how far do you go on a full tank?

I used to have a 125 Peugeot. The tank was so small that I had to fill every two days just to make sure I had enough for the next journey.

Colin, I get about 150mpg before going into the red, it's over 9 litres, and its doing about 23 miles per litre.

Dave
