This outstanding piece of techno-wonder was unveiled at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show for 2005.HONDA called it an "Automatic Sports Cruiser Concept".It features a 903cc LC engine, automatic transmission, LED headlights, brakelights,& turn signals. Per Honda ..."this machine embodies the four E's:Elegance, Excitement,Enjoyment & Ease.Everything about the E4-01 has been uniquely developed in accordance with these key words." IMHO Honda should get this machine here into the U.S.A. asap.

Australia first of you please , I'd like to try one out.
Building starts in Dec 2009, not sure when we all get it.

Bit of a hybrid the DN04, touring bike with scooter style bodywork that could well find a place in the market depending on how they price it. I'd like to see one in the flesh as their previous offering was pure cr@p looks wise, IMO.

Wow that is my next scooter! if I can afford it and if it weighs in at a tolerable weight

I to dislike the DN-01 .. looks like a tank and not suited for my uses but this E4-01 has heaps of room underneath the seat.. so it has my attention and *cough* so has the 903cc but I anit tell the wife about that

Piaggio new bikes??? I hope they do well but I will never buy another one while I live here in Australia the service is crap, spoke to quite a few on my travels around the east coast of oz and everyone has the same thought they will never buy another Piaggio, Suzuki/Honda/Yamaha offer the best service here

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and on first exposure I'm not immediately taken by this Honda. Actually, I think it's pig-ugly but it is certainly dramatic-looking.

Also, what's the point of such a big engine? This would make it ideally suited to very long haul rides during which (probably) an auto box wouldn't be much use at all. In contrast, the auto box would be great in town and in heavy traffic at which point the big engine would be pointless and, possibly, even a nuisance (IMHO of course).

Are we in danger of falling into the 'bigger is always better' trap?

So explain why wouldn't the auto be good on long hauls?

I have one and do long hauls just about every day and find it a whole lot better that any geared bike.. I understand its IMO so just asking

In town I agree autos are great!

Hmmm! My thoughts are as follows:

Very stealthy looking.
Does it have a centre stand, I did not notice one?
It looks to me like it is shaft drive, unless I missed something.
It is quite a big machine and probably heavy as well.
It will be expensive to buy and own.
Do we really need 'scooters' with engines that big?

The bigger the better, I love that power and I hate geared motorcycles or cars.. so its sooo nice that scooters are catching up.. plus its great that I can tax claim for it all coz I need it

I set myself up to not like the machine. However, as I watched the vid I found myself actually taking a liking to the Honda.

As for engine size. Sorry - I am a bigger is best fan. No matter what size I guess I will always want more.

As for the comment of a centre stand. Nope I didn't see one either. But there again I tend to use my side stand, so it's not an issue for me.

As for would I buy one. Not yet, just setting my sights on a new Wing at the moment.

As I said chaps, 'just my thoughts'.

I'm a little peaved as the new gov budget will allow 50% of any business asset purchased before dec 2009, this can be claimed of ones taxable income.. my account tells me it works out to around 150% depreciation

I'm totally supprised the Honda is selling well here same as the spider I'd never have thought it.. seems a lot of older guys are buying the spider as the stability allows them to still ride when thier balance is not as good as it use to be.. well good for them I say:D

Have to agree with that idea of riding whatever keeps you on the road.

Looking at it again and the way the under seat lid opens there would be no room for a top box unless you hang it 3' over the back end.

That looks better than the DN-01 and it will go better aswell but knowing Honda it will have a price tag only a morgage can handle.

The DN01 dropped in price here from $18,990 to $10,900 over night.. I bet there are some people who are really p*ssed about that

I can pick up a DN-01 for £5000 here seeing they were £10,000 when they first come out.
I still wouldn't have one at that price.

I'm thinking on getting a Burger 650 in the next couple of months, it has everything i need and more reliable than my Nexus.

There are a lot of happy people here riding the 650.. its just not for me it to heavy.. I like the TMax have done just over 24,000 and has not missed a beat.. I was thinking of hiring a 650 to see what they are like.. may still do that

I would be good if you did do that and then we can have an honest opion on the both, well as honest as an ozzy can get that is.

John, I've had a 2007 tmax and now have a 650 Burgman, and the best is ??? The Burgman, you know why.
